Lei Ye, MD, PhD is Professor of department of Endocrine and Metabolic diseases, Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University, School of medicine, Principle Investigator of Shanghai Institute of Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases, Committee Member of the Chinese Society of Endocrinology. Her interests are genetics of endocrine tumor. During her PhD training, she was mentored by Prof. Guang Ning and demonstrated hypomethylation of POMC promoter in thymic carcinoid with ectopic ACTH production; afterward, as postdoc fellow at University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, she worked with Dr. Robert Gagel and demonstrated CNV change and RET genotype correlation with TKI efficacy in medullary thyroid carcinoma. Upon returning to Ruijin Hospital, she established the Laboratory of Molecular diagnosis of Endocrine tumor to facilitate clinical management of endocrine tumor and hereditary endocrine diseases. Currently, Ruijin
Hospital is the largest center for endocrine tumor and hereditary endocrine diseases in China, including MEN. She tries to apply genetics in the management of patients with endocrine tumors and has over 100 publications in peer reviewed journals.
