RAFAEL LOCH BATISTA

Dr. Rafael Loch Batista is a board-certified endocrinologist and physician-scientist specializing in endocrine genetics, pituitary tumors, and disorders of sex development (DSD). He earned his MD from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at FFFCMPA, and received his PhD from the University of São Paulo (USP). He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, focusing on mobile retroelements in endocrine disorders. He currently serves as an Assistant Physician in the Endocrinology Division of Hospital das Clínicas, University of São Paulo, and is a research physician at the Hormones and Molecular Genetics Laboratory (LIM/42). He has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications and leads research funded by AACR and CNPq on endogenous retroviruses as biomarkers in endocrine tumors and triple-negative breast cancer.
