Dr. Nelson Freimer is Professor of Psychiatry and Human Genetics, Director of the Depression Grand Challenge, and Director of the Center for Neurobehavioral Genetics, all at UCLA. He leads several large-scale international genetic projects. As one of the PIs of the PUMAS consortium he is currently collaborating with Brazilian investigators on studies aimed at identifying the genetic basis of severe mental illness.
