Ricardo Nitrini is a physician who graduated from the University of São Paulo Medical School (FMUSP), Brazil, in 1971. He was a Neurology resident and preceptor of residents at the Hospital das Clínicas at FMUSP. At the same University, he obtained the degrees of Master (1981), Doctor (1986), and Associate Professor of Neurology (1993). Since 2012 he has been a Full Professor of Neurology at FMUSP. His main area of ​​research is on Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology with an emphasis on the study of dementias. He is the founder and co-director of the Cognitive Neurology and Behavior Unit of the Department of Neurology and of the Reference Center for Cognitive Disorders at Hospital das Clínicas. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the journal Dementia & Neuropsychologia, and a member of the editorial board of scientific journals. He has 333 articles indexed in the Web of Science with 4,831 citations and an H-index of 34. He was the organizer/editor of 23 books and author of over 120 book chapters.
